Wahyu (16 tahun) memiliki kemampuan luar biasa dalam bermain sepakbola. Ia tinggal di Desa Langitan di lereng gunung Bromo bersama ayahnya seorang penjual minuman hangat di kawasan wisata gunung api itu, dan ibunya. Demi membahagiakan orang tuanya, Wahyu memanfaatkan keahliannya dalam bermain bola dengan menjadi pemain sewaan dan bermain bola dari satu tim desa ke tim desa lain dengan bantuan Hasan, pamannya. Sayangnya Pak Darto, ayah Wahyu sangat tidak menyukai apa yang dilakukan anaknya. Suatu hari saat Wahyu bermain bola dengan rekan-rekannya, keahlian istimewanya tak sengaja dilihat oleh Coach Timo yang tengah hiking bersama Matias di lereng Bromo. Coach Timo kemudian menawari Wahyu untuk datang ke Malang dan menjalani tes bersama Persema Malang. Sayangnya, berbagai ujian dalam meraih kesempatan emas bermain bersama Irfan Bachdim dan Kim Kurniawan di Persema mendapat banyak halangan. Selain harus memilih antara cintanya kepada Indah dan impiannya untuk bermain bola di jenjang yang lebih tinggi, Wahyu juga harus mampu meyakinkan Pak Darto. Belum lagi ternyata Hasan memiliki kepentingannya sendiri terhadap Wahyu. Selain berbagai rintangan yang harus ia hadapi, layaknya seorang pemain bola sebelum mencetak gol, Wahyu juga harus menghadapi tantangan terakhir dari dirinya sendiri. Sebuah penyakit yang biasa menyerang anak-anak usia enam belas tahun seperti Wahyu.

Sayang, kesenangan mereka terganggu setelah satu demi satu tamu resor menghilang. Awalnya Nero, Kimo dan Monica menduga tamu-tamu yang menghilang itu check-out tanpa sepengetahuan hotel. Atau mereka dianggap pelesir mengeksplorasi pulau. Kecurigaan Nero terhadap Kadir, pelayan hotel yang sering ke belakang pulau, juga tak beralasan. Kadir memang selalu mengirim sesaji untuk penghuni belakang pulau, tapi dia tidak melakukan ritual apapun.

Kematian Aiko, Monca, Amel, Rheina, Johanna dan kekasihnya, lalu Zarra, menemukan jawabannya. Mereka tidak meninggalkan pulau karena barang-barang ditemukan dalam keadaan utuh.

PATIGANA, pemilik resor yang baru, menjadi sosok paling misterius. Patigana menjalani ritual membangkitkan mayat istrinya. Nero menyaksikan semua keanehan ini. Tapi ancaman kematian juga mengancam nyawanya. Hanya satu harapan Nero untuk menghadapi serangkaian kematian misterius tersebut.

Gadis cantik itu pun berubah menjadi"monster" hingga terpaksa harus menjalani serangkaian kemotrapi dan radiasi hampir setahun lamanya, akibatnya, semua,rambut Keke sedikit demi sedikit mulai rontok, kulitnya mengering, dan sering mual-mual. Ketekunan Keke dan keluarganya membuahkan hasil. Keke dinyatakan sembuh dan bisa kembali menjalani aktifitas seperti sedia kala.

Tak dinyana, setahun kemudian, kanker itu kembali, lebih parah dan mematikan. Sadar tak mungkin bertahan, tidak lantas membuatnya meyerah dan kalah. Semangatnya untuk tetap menjadi yang terbaik tak sedikitpun melemah. Seperti bintang Sirius yang tetap bersinar terang walau langit tertutup awan.
